### Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Business Intelligence Data Modeler to join our team and play a key role in the implementation of an Enterprise Analytics Platform (EAP). This platform includes a data lake designed to support multiple universities and campuses. In this role, you will collaborate closely with analysts, developers, and stakeholders to design and develop data models that integrate various source systems into cohesive reporting and visualization solutions.
### Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support enterprise analytics.
- Integrate multiple data sources—including Oracle/PeopleSoft HR, Finance, and Workday—into a structured and coherent data catalog.
- Work with analysts to understand business requirements and translate them into effective data models.
- Conduct gap analyses and cost/benefit/risk assessments to optimize data model designs.
- Ensure all data models adhere to design and security best practices.
- Perform data profiling and analysis to maintain high data quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate metadata into tools like Collibra and Tableau.
- Work closely with developers to ensure clarity in data models and definitions.
- Provide walkthroughs and support to EAP consumers and stakeholders.
### Required Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience in a relevant role (e.g., Data Architect, Data Scientist, Data Analyst, Data Engineer, or Business Intelligence Analyst).
- Strong understanding of database structures, data warehousing concepts, and data lakes.
- Expertise in data modeling principles and best practices, with a focus on relational and dimensional modeling.
- Hands-on experience with AWS Redshift and data modeling tools (ER Studio preferred).
- Familiarity with cloud-based architecture and AWS environments.
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Knowledge of metadata management, master/reference data management, and object-oriented/domain-driven design.
- Experience gathering and analyzing data, reports, and business requirements.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work in a team environment and explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
### Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with higher education data and reporting (e.g., students, HR, finance, operations).
- Familiarity with AWS cloud environments.
- Experience working in agile or hybrid teams (agile + waterfall).
- Background in migrating legacy applications and data systems to modern platforms.
