Job Description

Job Summary
Our client is undertaking a transformational data platform modernization effort and has a current need for a talented Data Visualization Engineer with hands on expertise with AWS QuickSight. The ideal candidate will have a strong background working within Saas organizations developing product and working within internal stakeholders to design and develop product visualization enhancements to address customer and market needs and product evolution. This is a self starter type role working independently as part of a small team and candidates must be able to communicate with internal executives and support requirements gathering to ensure dashboard development execution.

Primary Responsibilities

Lead the design and development of data visualizations using AWS QuickSight, focusing on enhancing product capabilities and meeting market demands.
Support requirements gathering sessions, ensuring clear understanding of business needs, KPIs, and user expectations for dashboard functionality.
Collaborate with data engineers and other technical teams to design and integrate data models, including star schemas, to ensure optimal performance and data integrity for visualizations.
Proactively stay updated on new features and best practices within AWS QuickSight and other visualization tools, making recommendations to enhance reporting capabilities.
Provide solutions to complex data visualization challenges and proactively suggest improvements to visualization processes and methodologies.
Demonstrate proficiency within the AWS ecosystem, leveraging various AWS tools to streamline data operations and optimize data visualizations, ensuring seamless integration within the platform.

Education and Experience

5+ years data visualization experience within a Saas product organization
3+ years expertise with AWS QuickSight
Experience with similar visualization tools - PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik
Exposure to data modeling/star schemas
Preference given to candidates with experience building semantic search
Proficiency and comfort within the AWS ecosystem
