At MKBC, we save lives every day by providing blood products to hospitals in PA and NJ. The Medical Screener position supports the Blood Center by supporting blood donations (blood and blood products) safely from volunteer donors in a compassionate and professional manner. The anticipated salary starts at $15.00 per hour and is commensurate with experience. In addition, Miller-Keystone offers the following to all full-time (part-time) employees:

What you will be doing:

• Working at both Fixed and Mobile sites as scheduled
• Screening all donors per Miller-Keystone and regulatory standards, including taking blood pressure, pulse, and hemotocrit, maintaining a low error rate
• Set-up and tear-down of all supplies and equipment, accurate completion of daily QC, and ensuring all equipment and supplies are available before the collection event is scheduled to begin and that blood products are properly stored and prepared for transportation

What you will bring to the role:

• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Ability to work with computers and tablets preferred.

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

Additional information:

• This position reports directly to the Donor Collections Manager
• Hours vary daily based on schedule of blood drives and can be either 7am - 3pm or 12pm - 7pm

• To best meet the needs of our donors and community, staff work a variable schedule which may include early mornings, late nights, and on-call to cover weekends and holidays
• A schedule is provided two weeks in advance
