Location: Bradenton, FL (Relocation assistance availabe if needed)

Status of Hire: direct placement; permanent

Pay: $75,000-85,000

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a talented Engineer to join our dynamic team.

In this role, you will leverage your expertise in quantum engineering to develop innovative solutions that meet our customers' manufacturing needs while contributing to our mission of excellence.

Selected candidate would be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of printing technologies within our organization.

They focus on improving printing processes, ensuring quality control, and researching and adopting new printing techniques. This role requires a deep understanding of various printing methods, equipment, and materials, along with strong problem-solving skills to address technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Printing System Implementation and Optimization:
  • Research, develop, and implement printing technologies to meet production needs and enhance print quality.
  • Optimize existing printing processes (e.g., digital, screen, pad, offset) for improved performance and cost-efficiency.
  • Lead projects to integrate new technologies and equipment into production lines.

Research and Development:

  • Research emerging printing technologies and industry trends to ensure the organization stays competitive and innovative.
  • Test and evaluate new printing materials (e.g., inks, substrates) and technologies to improve the quality and efficiency of print production.
  • Lead R&D efforts to develop proprietary printing methods or enhance existing techniques.

Process Improvement and Efficiency:

  • Implement process improvements to streamline printing workflows, reduce waste, and improve turnaround times.
  • Utilize lean manufacturing techniques and Six Sigma methodologies to optimize print production processes.
  • Work closely with operations to ensure smooth transitions between pre-press, press, and post-press operations.

Quality Control and Standardization:

  • Ensure the printing process adheres to strict quality standards and specifications.
  • Work with quality to develop and enforce quality control measures for print production, including color management, print accuracy, and consistency.
  • Review print outputs and make adjustments as needed to meet client and company requirements.

Collaboration and Cross-functional Coordination:

  • Collaborate with designers, production managers, and engineers to ensure print projects are completed to specifications.
  • Train and mentor production staff in new technologies and processes to improve overall skill levels and operational knowledge.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance during the planning and execution of print production projects.

Troubleshooting and Technical Support:

  • Assist operations with technical support and troubleshooting for printing equipment and systems.
  • Assist in the investigation to resolve production issues related to equipment, materials, and technology.
  • Perform root-cause analysis for recurring technical problems and develop solutions to prevent them.

Equipment Maintenance and Management:

  • Train maintenance personnel on the calibration of printing machinery to ensure optimal performance.
  • Work with the maintenance team to establish preventative maintenance schedules and reduce downtime.
  • Evaluate new equipment for purchase, ensuring it meets technical and budgetary requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Printing Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (3-5 years) in printing technology, engineering, or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of printing processes (e.g., digital, offset, pad, screen printing) and printing equipment.
  • Experience with color management, quality control, and print troubleshooting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex technical challenges.
  • Proficiency in printing software, and equipment management systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with teams.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with automated printing systems.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental compliance in printing.
  • Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement certification.
  • Knowledge of pre-press and post-press processes.

Work Environment:

  • Works in a printing or manufacturing environment with exposure to printing equipment, materials, and chemicals.
