The Residential Driver will be responsible for safely, efficiently, and courteously providing waste removal services to customers. The driver will collect solid waste or recyclables on curbside and/or backdoor routes and transport to post-collection facilities. Key responsibilities include operating residential/recycling collection trucks and ancillary equipment, loading waste and recyclables, compacting trash, performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintaining route quality standards, following safety standards and company policies, maintaining clean vehicles, identifying and tagging prohibited waste, managing helpers if applicable, reporting accidents, maintaining accurate service records, and attending safety and branch meetings. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED desired, possession of a Commercial Driver's License, minimum one year of commercial driving experience or CDL school certificate, ability to meet safety-sensitive function criteria, and ability to safely drive and operate equipment. The role demands knowledge of truck components and maintenance, ability to maneuver trucks in tight spaces, recognize unacceptable waste, communicate effectively, read and comprehend documents, follow instructions, and physical ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds repetitively. Working conditions include exposure to loud noise, weather extremes, mechanical parts, chemicals, and outdoor work up to 100% of the time.
